Our Privacy Policy describes how and what data New York City Tourism + Conventions and its agents collect from you.

Here is how and why we use your personal data via, e-newsletter, digital advertising, applications or social media platforms, which are collectively referred to here as our Website(s). The agents are back-end providers of services that support our Websites, analytics providers and the various services that we offer. This policy also describes choices we provide for you to access, update or otherwise take control of the personal data that we process. We collect, process and analyze the data to provide you with the services available via our Websites and to provide other information or services including valuable information, offers and services to travelers, meeting planners, the travel trade or those interested in travel to New York City and in related travel, leisure, cultural, lodging and entertainment or services available through our partners.

Please note that requests to update your personal information preferences may take up to 30 days if sent by email and six weeks if by mail (at the address listed below). Requests from residents of California will be acknowledged within 10 days of receipt and responded to within 45 days of receipt unless an extension of time will be needed to respond in which case you will be notified and a response will be provided within the required legal time frame. Information that we collect includes information that you may give us by using our Website(s), filling out forms on our Website(s); corresponding with us by phone email, online or otherwise; downloading an application or registering on one of our Websites; interacting with our Website(s) by subscribing to a service, e-newsletter, entering a competition; sharing information from one of our social media platforms or reporting a problem with our Websites.

We do not actively encourage use of our website by children or market or direct advertising to those under 16. You agree that you are over 16.

We will notify appropriate authorities and, as may be required, you of a personal data breach without undue delay if there is a high risk of harm based on the type of information and breach or provide notice in an appropriate manner where the breach does not pose a high risk of harm.

Opt Out Requests and Policies

If you would like to opt out of the collection or sharing of personal information, have us delete all of your personal information (except for information that we are required to keep for record-keeping purposes) and/or remove your name and address from promotional lists (including any personal information gathered by our service providers) and place your name on our “do not contact” list, you should contact our Privacy Administrator. Please note that any requests to update your personal information may take up to 30 days for an email request and six weeks to process a postal-mail request. Residents of California will receive an acknowledgement of their requests within 10 days of receipt and we will provide a response within 45 days of the receipt of their requests unless we inform you that it will require additional time to respond.

If you are a resident of California and wish to opt out of sharing of personal information with our vendors or affiliates, request access to personal information that we have collected in the preceding twelve months or deletion of personal information, you may contact us at the email or address below. We will not discriminate against anyone exercising these rights, but we may not be able to provide the same website functionality or access to an email subscription that website visitors and email subscribers otherwise obtain.
